DESCRIBE THE NETWORK AS EQUIPMENT GROUPS

List switches, routers and chassis by manufacturer and model. Then identify removable line cards, controller modules, interfaces and backplanes. Photograph the front panel and readable labels so each group can be matched to its inventory line.

For Cisco, Juniper or other branded equipment, the full model number is more useful than the brand alone. Our telecom board information explains the details to retain when complete chassis and loose cards are in the same collection.

KEEP SERVER UPGRADES ORGANIZED

A server refresh may leave processors and memory that still have clear model information. Group server RAM by matching labels, and count processors by model. Keep tested parts separate from untested or damaged inventory.

For complete systems, note what remains installed. An equipment list with model, quantity, configuration and condition is a useful starting point. Existing asset records are welcome; there is no need to rebuild information already available in a readable format.

SUNNYVALE CIRCUIT BOARD RECYCLING FAQ

Should supervisor modules be removed from a switch for the quote?

A photo of the populated chassis and its module labels is enough to start. If modules are already removed, list them individually. Describe what is included without taking apart working equipment just for the inquiry.

How do I separate spare line cards from installed line cards?

Record installed cards under their chassis configuration and put boxed spares on separate inventory lines. Mark condition for each group. This shows the available equipment without inflating the count of removable modules.

Do you buy switch supervisor and management modules?

Include the exact module part number, condition and photos. If it remains installed, list it under its chassis configuration. Boxed spares should have their own quantities so the available hardware can be counted correctly.

Can optical interface cards be offered with other telecom boards?

Yes. Identify the card models and attached optical modules separately where possible. Show connectors and labels, and note missing parts. A broad telecom description should not hide differences between the assemblies in the lot.
